Nascar Racing

Gentle Readers-
There is a giant, obviously donated, TV in the common room on the second floor where the over 80 crowd gathers to watch various tv programs at full volume each night after supper. Usually due to either obligations or some of the bad smells that are emitted, most of the under 80's usually find something else to do. However, last night, I was excused from kitchen duty as I had orchestrated the entire feeding process from morning through the big sunday dinner. Since I was really, really tired, I wandered upstairs, having a half hour to kill before night service.

What do we end up watching?

NASCAR racing! Yes, once again, the 80's and I sat around watching Nascar racing. The lead car was emblazoned with a large letters spelling out viagra. I secretly hoped that no one would ask me what viagra was. One day, in the past, a sister asked a younger sister what oral sex was. So you can see why I was hoping that I wasnt asked what viagra was. Yes, gentle readers, we watched these cars go around and around and around.

Why not change the channel you ask? Changing the channels is not an easy feat--mostly because we only get 5 channels and usually one of the charmingly crusty older sisters has the remote and can't figure out how to change the channel or they have fallen asleep. I hope one day to be able to sleep through the sonic boom (the tv) as well. While older, these women have done amazing things and now deserve to sit around and watch tv, even if it means watching nascar. One sister asked, well where are they going so fast?

It's monday, the community day off. I love my mondays. I usually go out into the town and see a movie or just get out and do whatever I want. I'm going to see "Jarheads" today.

Love ,
